Which product do you need?
The right care product depends on your furniture's finish and what you're trying to achieve - cleaning, nourishing, or protecting a surface.
The Artifex Enviro Glow is the starting point for most timber furniture. A silicon-free, water-based polish designed to clean, nourish and protect without darkening the grain or leaving oily residue. It dries clear with no added gloss - ideal for finished natural timbers, low-gloss and semi-gloss surfaces, and low-gloss simulated timber laminates. Spray lightly across the surface, then wipe with a soft cloth following the grain. For frequently used surfaces like dining tables and desks, use every one to two weeks.
The Artifex Furniture Wax is the alternative for customers who prefer a traditional wax finish. Made from a blend of beeswax and tree oils, it cleans, seals and protects in one step - leaving a low-gloss lustre that enhances natural grain. It works on varnished, lacquered, shellac-finished and raw timber, and is non-toxic and safe for children's furniture. Apply with a soft cloth, buff to a low sheen, and repeat every six to twelve months.
The Black Microfibre Cloth is the recommended applicator for both products. Microfibre distributes product evenly without scratching the surface, and the black colour means residue doesn't show between uses.
How to care for timber furniture?
For Enviro Glow, every one to two weeks on frequently used surfaces - dining tables and desks particularly benefit from regular attention through summer when humidity and UV can affect the finish. For the Furniture Wax, every six to twelve months is enough for most pieces.
A well-maintained surface is significantly easier to clean and far more resistant to staining than one left untreated.

Australian conditions and your furniture
Humidity, UV and temperature variation affect timber differently depending on where you live. Coastal homes deal with salt air and moisture. Inland homes face drier conditions that can cause timber to contract over time. Enviro Glow is silicon-free and formulated to nourish without trapping moisture or leaving surface buildup, making it well-suited to the range of conditions Australian homes experience.

FAQs
- Which furniture care product should I use on my Artifex piece?
The Artifex Enviro Glow suits most finished timber furniture - dining tables, desks, bedside tables, entertainment units and low-gloss simulated timber laminates. If you prefer a traditional wax finish, choose the Furniture Wax, which also works on shellac and raw timber.
- How do I use Enviro Glow?
Lightly spray an even layer across the surface, then wipe with a soft, clean cloth following the direction of the grain. Use every one to two weeks on frequently used surfaces.
- Does Enviro Glow add shine or change the look of the timber?
No. It dries completely clear with no added gloss. It cleans and nourishes without darkening the grain or leaving oily residue. The finish stays velvety and natural-looking.
- Is Enviro Glow safe for children's furniture?
Yes. It is silicon-free and solvent-free. The Furniture Wax is also non-toxic and non-flammable, and is safe for children's furniture straight from the tin.
- What is the difference between Enviro Glow and the Furniture Wax?
Enviro Glow is a water-based, silicon-free spray polish that cleans and nourishes regularly with no added shine. The Furniture Wax is a beeswax and tree oil blend applied less frequently, every six to twelve months, that builds a low-gloss, protective lustre. Both are non-toxic. Enviro Glow suits customers who want regular, low-effort maintenance; the Wax suits those who prefer a traditional wax application.
- Can I use these products on furniture from other brands?
Yes, both products suit any timber furniture with a compatible finish: finished natural timbers, and low to semi-gloss simulated timber laminates. Not suitable for painted surfaces or high-gloss finishes. We recommend testing on an inconspicuous area first, particularly on older or unfamiliar finishes.
