The greatest thing about Timber boards is they can last you decades when the proper care is shown. Follow these steps so your board can stay beautiful for years to come.
Firstly, never submerge your board in water or place it in the dishwasher, this will result in warping. Wipe all sides with a damp cloth and let it air dry vertically, so moisture doesn’t get trapped underneath. Remember, excess exposure to water will cause warping and cracking.
Initially your board will need to be oiled after every use the first few times and then as required, this will keep it looking beautiful and protect the timber from moisture. Pour any food grade oil (like canola or grapeseed) onto your board and wipe it over with a cloth. Do this to all sides and then let it air dry by propping it up on your kitchen bench.
