'Rush and Flow' examines the ways our inner landscape—both intellectual and emotional—processes immersion in the natural world alongside our bodily experience. This concept is realised through my approach, whereby the oceanic environment is expressed via uninhibited mark-making and gestural brushstrokes that embody nature's raw power and energy, while contrasting sharply with the detail given to depicting the figures. I utilised a muted palette and patterns to create mood and movement and convey the feeling of these encounters. The world not as it is but as it is felt.
