A shift in awareness occurs when we acknowledge our place within nature's intricate weave and allow ourselves to be moved by its undulations and contours. Such moments deliver either crystalline understanding or powerful currents of reflection that transcend our individual boundaries. My practice communicates the intensity of these natural encounters. I use colour and patterns to create layers of poetry and convey the feeling of these encounters. The world not as it is but as it is felt. This ideology is conveyed through my method whereby the seascape is depicted with free, emotive brushstrokes that capture the energy of nature and the emotion of the experience, juxtaposed by the finder detail of the figures’ bodies.
