'Together' is an artwork representing a coastal scene in a palette of smoked pearl, olive green and browns together with a pop of jaune. This painting creates a bridge between impressionism and abstract art styles. In honour of this, the artist has used mixed media. Fluid and expressive brush marks using acrylic paint have been combined with the more organic tactile markings of oil pastel. This is juxtaposed with the finer detail of the figures, a signature of Esplin’s style.
