About the Artist:
Figurative painter James Jones was born in Goulburn, NSW in 1963. James graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy Major), from Macquarie University in 1986, and then again with a Diploma of Art (Painting) from the National Art School in 1990. In 1994, James was awarded an artist residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.

James’ work is rendered in lyrical abstraction that looks to the Australian urban and rural landscape for inspiration. He also draws creativity from the folly of contemporary society. James currently lives and works in Sydney.
