'Watching the Waves' depicts an abstract coastal landscape and two detailed male figures staring out to sea. There is something mesmerising about the ocean and Lauren taps into this sense of rythmic calm as breath and heartbeats align in time with the waves lapping the shore. The free expressive brushstrokes used to express the landscape, juxtapose the finer details of the figures, a signature of Esplin's art.
