Partnering with The Interior Design Institute

Artifex Interiors are excited to announce a new partnership with Registered Training Organisation, The Interior Design Institute.

We sat down exclusively with Jasmine Abel, Business Manager at IDI to talk about who they are, our collaboration and what to expect with this joint venture.

Tell us about The Interior Design Institute…

At IDI, we are incredibly passionate about the world of interiors and believe that good design impacts the environment and enhances people’s lives. We provide our students with quality online training programs that are flexible, fun and inspiring. Students who take our courses will acquire the necessary skills to translate ideas into reality, to design interiors with confidence, run a successful business or seek employment within the industry.

Our comprehensive courses will help students to think critically, become design savvy and be taught in a supportive online atmosphere, using a no-fuss online learning system.

What courses do you offer?

We offer two online interior design courses (certificate and accredited diploma) that are both filled with creativity, design flair and style. Additionally, we offer students enrolled in our courses the opportunity to upskill in topics like SketchUp, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Business and Branding, Kitchen and Bathroom Design, Home Staging and Property Styling, Plant Styling and Landscape Design, Commercial Design, and Setting Up Your Own Website.

How many Tutor’s support your Australian courses?  What can you tell us about them?

We have 6 Australian-based tutors, all which have a sound background in the design industry, where they share their experience and knowledge to students. The primary ambition of our tutor team is to ensure that graduates are well equipped and ready for the real world of interior design. You can see some of our tutors profiles and interior projects, here.

What are you working on over the next 12 months that is going to be a game changer?

Our team has been working on providing our students with on-going workshops, which have been a joy to run, and our students seem to love them. We’re also working on launching a new renovating course, in addition to a new online learning platform, which will enhance our student’s journey whilst they study with us.

Why did you want to partner with Artifex Interiors and how can we add value to your course offerings?

We wanted to partner with Artifex Interiors as we love that they create furniture that is made locally and made to last. By incorporating their range and ethos into our course curriculum, we can educate our students about the importance of quality craftsmanship, sustainable products and working with local designers and artisans.

What are you hoping to gain out of this partnership?

We’re big on collaboration, and one of our goals is to support more local designers, as such, we’re hoping to foster a long-term relationship with Artifex so we can work together and inspire our students to source quality products for the projects they work on after completing our course. We’re also hoping to encourage our students who live locally to head into the Artifex showroom so they can learn about their products and understand the different types of materials available.

Have you got anything exciting planned in the near future with Artifex Interiors?

We’re hoping to run some workshops with our students and the Artifex team as well as offering our students special discounts on their range.

You mentioned you wanted to educate your students about the importance of quality craftsmanship, sustainable products and working with local designers and artisans. Why is this important to you as an RTO?

Educating our students on this is crucial as our planet is in crisis and people tend to not think about using sustainable products that are built to last. We wish to spread more awareness and for students to consider reducing waste, selecting sustainable products, all whilst doing things in a way that protects the environment and doesn’t contribute to climate change.

Tell us about some of your other partnerships?

We have an on-going partnership with Darren Palmer, who is a TV personality on The Block, a trusted ambassador for high quality brands, an author, and influential interior designer.

Together with Darren, we created a series of carefully curated videos, to accompany our online interior design course called the Darren Palmer Masterclass. In each video, Darren walks our students through some incredible interiors, providing his expert knowledge on all things design and how to run your own business. These videos can be purchased as an add on for our certificate course, and for students enrolled in our accredited diploma course, they are included at no extra cost.

We also work with Hafele Australia, Andersens Australia and several other local and international interior design brands where we provide our students with unique trade discounts and special offers.

We are also excited to partner with SJS Interior Design in collaboration with you guys to showcase the SJS x Artifex furniture range and give our students and followers the opportunity to win something amazing with our August giveaway!

What is important to you as an RTO in Australia?

Interior design students in today’s learning environment are the design professionals who will lead the industry into the future. It’s important for us to provide our students with a positive and uplifting journey as they study with us, and educate them by providing quality learning materials all whilst helping them accomplish their goals of becoming an interior designer.

For those readers thinking about studying interior design to embark on a new career or to learn something new, let's talk more about how it all works at The Interior Design Institute.

Will I get the same out of it doing it online as opposed to in person?

Learning online is quite different to being there in person, however, through a combination of educational videos, detailed and aesthetically pleasing interior design modules, and virtual workshops, our course is hands-on and will have you feeling inspired and ready to enter the design industry. Our support and tutor team are available 24/7, 365 days a week and we take pride in offering our students an exceptional online learning experience that rivals face to face education.

Students can pay weekly, monthly or upfront. We are also working on offering Afterpay in the next couple of months.

Will I have plenty of support when studying?

Yes! We offer 24/7 student support. Our tutor and support team love guiding and assisting our students.

How flexible are your courses?

The beauty of our course is that it is online and self-paced. Students can study when it suits them from the comfort of their home or fav café. We also have no specific start dates, which means students can join our course at any time of the year.
