Three young women lean against a beach wall. They sit slumped over one another taking comfort in their closeness. They are relaxed after a log summer's day in the sun. Rich tones in plum, jade and pink feature in this painting. The coastal landscape is abstracted. The free brushstrokes of the background juxtapose the detail in the girls' faces. The mood is relaxed, and this painting has a dream like quality. In my art I look to capture a memory. The moment, not as it was, but as it was felt.
